FREE COMPETITION!

What do you do with the cereal dust or crumbs that you find on the bottom of a cereal packet?

We will be giving away a Free cereal dispenser for every idea that we publish on this website. They can be pratical ideas, creative or just amusing, and if you can include a jpeg photo of the idea then that's even better!

Here's some of our favourites:

Toppings

The sweet variety of cereal crumbs make an ideal topping for ice cream or yogurt.

(The Kellogg's Special K 'Red Berries' are idea as they give an extra crunch with a fruity zest)

Biscuits

Here is a simple biscuit recipe that was sent in by Samantha Shaw from Bournemouth.

We have actually made these biscuits (again, using the Kellogg's Special K 'Red Berries' variety) and we promise you, the biscuits are delicious.

Ingredients:

50g Butter

60g sugar

1 small egg yolk

100g plain flour

2 tablespoons of cereal crumbs

Preheat oven to 180°C, gas mark 4. Beat the sugar and butter until creamy. Add the egg a little at a time. add flour, mix into a dough. Add cereal crumbs and mix until evenly distributed. Create a variety of thin biscuit shapes (about 4mm thick). Place biscuits onto a greased baking tray and bake until golden brown (10 minutes). Remove and place on a wire rack to cool. Enjoy.....

Feed the birds

Congratulations to Cherl Pasquier from Hastings for this 'Fat ball' idea for the birds.

Mix the cereal crumbs with the solid fat residual after cooking sausages or chops in a frying pan (after it has cooled down). Form them into balls and hang them out for the birds to munch on throughout the winter months (the 'string' bags from the oranges or potatoes make ideal hanging bags or reuse the empty bags from the bird's peanuts)

This link to the BBC website has another variant on this idea:

 Loving touch!

And finally, N Lord from Manchester sent us this suggestion:

"I put the crumbs in my wifes half of the bed"
